I was born in Lubeck in Germany. After receiving a BA with honors in Linguistics in the USA, I came to Japan in 1978. Since 1979, I have mainly worked as an English German technical translator. My favorite fields are machinery such as machine tools, IT, and home electronics. The translation from Japanese to German is done in collaboration with my wife. I have also worked as a German interpreter and a narrator in German for several companies.The transcription of interviews with artists, athletes and other experts is another area that I enjoy working in. (I’ve translated documents for: Yamazaki Mazak, Toshiba, Clarion, Alpine, ANA, Toyota, Eisai, Suzuki, Hitachi, Komatsu, Victor, Toray, NEC, TEAC, etc.)
